Measures reported by SynNasDiskTest
This test monitors the current state and the temperature of each disk in the Synology NAS system. Using this test, administrators can identify the error-prone disks that may fail any time, initiate remedial measures so that potential disk failures can be averted. In addition, this test points administrators to the temperature of the disks using which abnormalities in the disk temperature can be easily identified and rectified before any irreversible damage is caused to the disk.
Outputs of the test : One set of results for each disk on the Synology storage system being monitored.
Descriptor of the test : Disk
The measures made by this test are as follows:
| Measurement |
Description |
Measurement Unit |
Interpretation |
| Disk_status |
Indicates the status of this disk. |
|
The values that this measure can report and their corresponding numeric values are tabulated below:
| Measure Value |
Numeric Value |
| Normal |
1 |
| Initialized |
2 |
| Not Initialized |
3 |
| System partition Failed |
4 |
| Crashed |
5 |
Note: By default, this measure reports the above-mentioned Measure Values listed in the table to indicate the current status of the internal fan. The graph of this measure however is represented using the numeric equivalents only. |
| Temperature |
Indicates the temperature of the disk. |
Celsius |
A gradual/sudden increase in the value of this measure is a cause of concern which could eventually result in the failure of the disk. |
