Generate - Test - Integration Console (Perfmon)
Once all the measurements of a test have been specified, the next step is to specify the implementation of the test. After all the measurements of the Snmp test have been specified, the Generate tab will be enabled.
Once all the measurements of a test have been specified, the next step is to specify the implementation of the test. Now, indicate whether the test is descriptor-based or non-descriptor based. Select the Single element option for creating a non-descriptor-based test. A test is said to be non-descriptor-based if its implementation does not involve access to SNMP table objects. Select the Multiple elements option for creating a descriptor-based test. When a test's implementation involves access to SNMP table objects, then such a test is a descriptor-based test. For more details about SNMP table entries, refer to the eG Customization Manual.
If you choose the Single Element option, click the Generate button to integrate the test's implementation into the eG Enterprise system.
On the other hand, choosing the Multiple elements option will require the following additional details:
Element ID(OID)− Specify the ID of the object that supplies the descriptors for a test. For example, if a test has been configured to measure the number of servers currently running in a Tuxedo domain, the unique domain identification string could be the descriptor. The ID of the SNMP object that returns this string would then be the Element OID.To know how to manually specify this OID, refer to the eG Customization Manual. Alternatively, you can specify this OID using the MIB browser. To invoke the browser, click the button next to the Element ID (OID) text box. Then, open the uploaded SNMP MIB file in the browser, view the MIB tree in the browser, drill down the MIB tree by expanding the nodes, and thus, locate the exact node that supplies the descriptors. Upon selecting the node of interest, the OID that corresponds to the node will be automatically displayed in the browser. Click the ok button in the browser to insert the OID in the Element ID(OID) text box.
Element status(OID) - In this text box, specify the ID of the object that returns the status of the descriptor. This specification combined with that of the Element valid status (Value) field form a filter condition that will enable you to view the measures pertaining to only those elements that are in a particular state. Such a condition is optional. Therefore, if filtering is not required, you can specify none in both these text boxes. This OID once again, can be specified manually or using the MIB browser. Refer to the eG Customization Manual for the manual procedure. To invoke the MIB browser on the other hand, just click the button next to the Element status(OID) text box. Then, open the uploaded SNMP MIB file in the browser, view the MIB tree in the browser, drill down the MIB tree by expanding the nodes, and thus, locate the exact node that reports the element status. Upon selecting the node of interest, the OID that corresponds to the node will be automatically displayed in the browser. Click the ok button in the browser to insert the OID in the Element status(OID) text box.
Note:
In order to use the MIB browser for specifying the Element ID(OID) and the Element status(OID), you need to ensure that the SNMP MIB of the application/network device in question is uploaded to the eG manager.
Element valid status (Value) − Specify the value that indicates the state of the descriptor. If filtering is not required, you can specify none here.
Rediscovery period(In mins) − Specify the frequency with which rediscovery needs to occur. By default, this
is 60 minutes.

Finally, clicking on the Generate button will result in the test's implementation being integrated into the eG Enterprise system.
The Back button enables the administrator to go back to the previous screen.
