This test reports the CIFS performance statistics of the Data Mover within the EMC VNX Storage system. Using this test, you can figure out the following:

• The number of CIFS protocol connections and the number of CIFS files that are currently open;
• How well the I/O operations were performed using CIFS protocol on the Data Mover?; Is there any performance delay while processing these operations?;
• What amount of data is required to perform the I/O operations using CIFS protocol?

• The TEST PERIOD list box helps the user to decide how often this test needs to be executed.

• Specify the IP address of the storage controller on the EMC VNX Storage system in the CONTROLLER STATION IP text box. By default, the IP address of the HOST will be assigned in the CONTROLLER STATION IP text box.

When changing default configurations of tests, the values with “$” indicate variables that will be replaced by the eG system according to the specific server being managed - for instance, $hostName is the host/nickname of the target host, $port is the port number of the server being monitored. E.g., for a server xyz:80, $hostName will be changed automatically by the eG manager to “xyz” and $port will be changed to “80” when configuring a test.
