List of Quick Maintenance Policies To access this page, click on the
Under the Quick Maintenance node, the maintenance policies that pre-exist will be listed as sub-nodes. If no maintenance policies pre-exist, then you will see none as the sub-node of Quick Maintenance. Using the Expand All / Close All options provided under the Maintenance Analysis node, you can simultaneously open/close all the subnodes that are listed under the Quick Maintenance node. If this icon glows, it indicates that the policy is currently active. Using the right-arrow button, you can hide the tree. To restore the tree, click the left-arrow button. By default, the Quick Maintenance node is chosen in the tree. In such a case therefore, the right panel will, by default, display details of the existing maintenance policies (if any). If no policies pre-exist, the right panel will display the message, No Policies Found. You can create a Quick Maintenance Policy by right-clicking on the Quick Maintenance node in the tree structure, and then by selecting Add Policy ( To modify the Quick Maintenance Policy expand the Quick Maintenance node in the tree structure to view the existing policies and right-click on the policy you need to modify, and select the Modify option. To delete the Quick Maintenance Policy right click on the policy name and click on Delete button. For example if you would like to delete a MsSql policy, right click on the MsSql policy and click on the Delete button. eG Enterprise will then request your confirmation to proceed with the deletion of Mssql policy. Click the OK button in the message box to confirm deletion. Otherwise, click on the Cancel button. To delete all the policies, right-click on the QUICK MAINTENANCE node and click on Delete All Policies. Doing so opens a QUICK MAINTENANCE POLICIES page listing all the existing policies. Select the policy you would like to delete and click on the Delete button at the bottom. All the existing policies will be selected by default. eG Enterprise will then request your confirmation to proceed with the deletion of the chosen policies. Click the OK button in the message box to confirm deletion. Otherwise, click on the Cancel button. Note: Quick maintenance policies are available only from version 5.2 of the eG Enterprise suite. Therefore, all direct installations of version 5.2 (or higher) will allow you to configure only Quick maintenance policies. Prior to version 5.2 however, administrators had to create a policy, add it to a policy group, and then associate that group to one/more hosts/tests/components for alarm suppression to occur. To ensure backward compatibility with these older versions, while upgrading to version 5.2 (or higher), eG Enterprise automatically checks whether any policies pre-exist in the previous version. If so, once upgrade completes, eG Enterprise automatically adds two new nodes - namely, Independent Policies and Policy Groups - and related sub-nodes to the MAINTENANCE POLICY tree structure.
On the other hand, if no maintenance policies were created in the older version, then only the Quick Maintenance and Maintenance Analysis To add an IndependentPolicy, right-click on the Independent Policies node which is in the leftside of the panel, then select Add Policy. To add individual maintenance policies to a group,right-click on any one of the independent policies that is being created and click on Add to Policy Group. To modify an Independent Policy right-click on the Policy you want to modify and click on the Modify Policy button. To delete an Independent Policy right-click on the Independent Policy and click on the Delete Policy option.To delete entire Independent Policies right-click on the Independent Policy node and click on the Delete All Policies button. You can either add multiple maintenance policies simultaneously to a group, or add one policy at a time to a group. To add multiple maintenance policies simultaneously to a group, right-click on the Policy Group node and click on the Add Policy Group. To add individual maintenance policies to a group,right-click on any one of the independent policies that is being created and click on Add to Policy Group. In the list of groups displayed in the Policy Groups node, right-click on the group to be modified and click on the Modify PolicyGroup button. To delete a group, right-click on the group name you want to delete and click on Delete PolicyGroup option. To delete entire PolicyGroup right-click on the PolicyGroup node and click on the Delete All Policy Groups button. To associate the policy group to the elements, right-click on the Policy Groups node or right-click on the individual policy group, which is listed as a sub-node of the Policy Groups node, and click on the Associate PolicyGroup. To view the complete details of all existing policies, simply click on the QUICK MAINTENANCE node in the tree structure. The right panel will then change to display the names of all the existing policies and their related details. These details will be available in 2 tabs - Policy Schedule and Associated Elements. By default, the Policy Schedule tab page will be selected, and will provide the time period specifications that correspond to every policy. To view the elements with which a particular policy is associated, just click on the Associated Elements tab page of that policy. Using Show All Associated Elements link provided at the top right corner of the QUICK MAINTENANCE POLICIES page, you can view the associated elements of all the policies, simultaneously.
To run a quick search across policies to locate a particular policy, use the Search option in this page. Specify the whole/part of the policy name to search for in the Search text box and click the right-arrow button next to it. All policies with names that embed the specified search string will then be listed. |
