| Default Thresholds To configure the default threshold values for the measures of a chosen test. Normally, default thresholds apply to all components of a specific type, click on the Once the Component type is chosen, the tests pertaining to that component type will be listed in the Test name list box. The host level tests and the component specific tests will be populated in the Test name list box in two separate sections i.e., the host level tests will be listed under the For Host section and the component specific tests will be listed under the For <Component> section, say for e.g., if you choose Tomcat as the Component type, then the tests applicable only for that component type will be listed under the For Tomcat section. If Default Thresholds are configured for an application-level test, then such thresholds will govern the state of that test for the chosen application-type alone - for instance, if you configure Default Thresholds for say, the Tomcat Applications test mapped to the Tomcat component type, then, these thresholds will automatically apply to the Tomcat Applications test of all managed components of type Tomcat alone. On the contrary, if you override the Default Thresholds of an active host-level test, then these thresholds will automatically apply to all managed component-types to which that test is mapped. For instance, say you select Tomcat as the Component type list box and proceed to configure the default threshold for the Disk Space test by choosing that test from the Test name list box of that page. Also, assume that you have additionally managed an Oracle Database and a Microsoft SQL server in your environment. Now, since the Disk Space test is mapped to the Oracle Database and Microsoft SQL components as well, the Default Thresholds that you set for the Disk Space test of the Tomcat component type, will automatically apply to the Disk Space tests of the Oracle Database and Microsoft SQL component types as well. Once you have chosen a test from the Test name list box, this page will list all the measures that are applicable for that test. By default, some of the measures that are displayed in this page will be pre-configured with the threshold limits based on industry standard practices. Such threshold values will be displayed against each measure. If the thresholds have been pre-configured, then from this page you can identify whether the maximum threshold or minimum threshold is set for the measures, view the thresholds of the measures along with the threshold policy. If no thresholds have been set for the measures by default, then such measures will be listed under the Measures without thresholds section. Clicking on the measure from this page will lead you to the page where you can configure the threshold values of your choice. To know more on how to configure the default thresholds, click here.
