Measures reported by FPMemPoolsTest

Memory management is one of the key function for any device to make sure there is enough memory for ongoing operations and new processes. Cisco Firepower divides the memory in memory pools which are subsequently used for different purposes. It is utmost important for administrators to understand the efficiency and usage of memory pools so as to ensure smooth operation of the device.

This test monitors the Firepower Memory pools, also called fixed-size blocks allocation and reports key metrics indicating the health and performance and ensure the use of pools for memory management and dynamic memory allocation runs smoothly.

Outputs of the test: One set of results for each Memory pool in the target Cisco Firepower device that is being monitored.

Descriptor: Memory Pool

The measures made by this test are as follows:

Measurement Description Measurement Unit Interpretation
Total_memory_pool Indicates the total number of bytes in memory pool. MB

Used_memory_pool Indicates the number of bytes which are in use in the memory pool. MB

If the amount of memory used as a percentage of total memory is very high then their won't be enough memory for new operations.
