Measures reported by CogGraphicsTest Graphics (charts) that are used in reports can be generated in Raster, Vector, Microsoft Excel XML, or PDF format. In IBM Cognos environment, Graphics service is responsible for producing graphics on behalf of the Report Service. If the Graphics Service is unavailable or the requests to the service are frequently failing, then the reports will not have the required graphics i.e., charts. An incomplete report may not be useful to the users. This is why, administrators should continuously monitor the Graphics Service and ensure its availability and track the request processing efficiency. This can be easily achieved using CogGraphicsTest. This test monitors the Graphics Service and reports the current status of the service. This test helps administrators identify the maximum number of processes that can be used by the dispatcher to handle requests. The maximum / minimum number of processes that were running at a give point in time since the service was last restarted helps administrators identify the load on the service. The request processing ability of the service is periodically monitored so that administrators can initiate troubleshooting at the earliest when there is a sudden / gradual increase in the count of failed requests. Outputs of the test: One set of results for the target IBM Cognos Business Intelligence suite being monitored. The measures made by this test are as follows:
