Default Parameters for ScpAppHanaAvaTest

A check event is triggered for monitoring the availability of HANA XS application in SAP BTP Neo Environment. An event is sent if the application is not available or the response time is longer than the configured thresholds. Another event is sent again when the application is available again or the response time is back to normal.

This test reports whether/not the HANA XS application is up and running in SAP BTP Neo Environment. If so, the test additionally reports the responsiveness of the HANA XS application.

This page depicts the default parameters that need to be configured for the ScpAppHanaAvaTest.

  • The TEST PERIOD list box helps the user to decide how often this test needs to be executed.

  • In SAP Cloud Platform Cockpit, one user account will have multiple subaccounts. So you can mention any one of the subaccount name in the SUBACCOUNT text box.   • Specify comma-separated list of HANA XS application names pattern that need to be included for monitoring in the HANA XS APPLICATION NAMES text box. To know how to determine the HANA XS Application names, refer to Determining the Names of the HANA XS Applications to be Monitored topic in Pre-requisites for Monitoring SAP BTP Neo Environment section of Monitoring SAP BTP Neo Environment document.

  • For collecting the metrics, specify the Username in the USER text box. The Username here refers to the Client ID created in SAP Cloud Platform Cockpit. To know how to create such a user (Client ID) in SAP Cloud Platform Cockpit, refer to Registering the eG Agent as an API Client topic in Pre-requisites for Monitoring SAP BTP Neo Environment section of Monitoring SAP BTP Neo Environment document.

  • Specify the password in the PASSWORD text box. The Password here refers to the Client Secret created in SAP Cloud Platform Cockpit. To know how to create Password (Client Secret) in SAP Cloud Platform Cockpit, refer to Registering the eG Agent as an API Client topic in Pre-requisites for Monitoring SAP BTP Neo Environment section of Monitoring SAP BTP Neo Environment document.

  • Confirm the password by retyping it here in the CONFIRM PASSWORD text box

  • Once the above values are provided, click on the UPDATE button to register the changes made.

When changing default configurations of tests, the values with “$” indicate variables that will be replaced by the eG system according to the specific server being managed - for instance, $hostName is the host/nickname of the target host, $port is the port number of the server being monitored. E.g., for a server xyz:80, $hostName will be changed automatically by the eG manager to “xyz*” and $port will be changed to “80” when configuring a test.
