Measures reported by GtmVSrvStTest
Clients on an external network can send traffic to a virtual server, which then directs the traffic according to your configuration instructions. The main purpose of a virtual server is often to balance traffic load across a pool of servers on an internal network. Virtual servers increase the availability of resources for processing client requests. If a virtual server is unavailable or down for a longer duration, the traffic manager will not be able to handle the load. To ensure the requests are catered properly, the virtual server should be up and running.
This test auto-discovers the virtual servers in the target BIG-IP GTM, and for each virtual server, this test reports the availability and the status of the virtual server. Using this test, administrators can instantly identify the virtual servers that are not available/error-prone/disabled.
Outputs of the test: One set of results for each server in the BIG-IP GTM that is being monitored.
Descriptor: Server
The measures made by this test are as follows:
| Measurement |
Description |
Measurement Unit |
Interpretation |
| Vsrv_Avail |
Indicates the availability of this virtual server. |
|
The values reported by this measure and its numeric equivalent are mentioned in the table below:
| Measure Value |
Numeric Value |
| Available |
0 (None) |
| Unknown |
1 (Green) |
| Unlicensed |
2 (Yellow) |
| Error |
3 (Red) |
| Currently not available |
4 (Blue) |
| Not available |
5 (Gray) |
Note:
By default, this measure reports the above-mentioned Measure Values while indicating the availability of this virtual server in BIG-IP GTM. However, in the graph of this measure, states will be represented using the corresponding numeric equivalents only - i.e., 0 to 5.
|
| VSrv_State |
Indicates the activity status of this virtual server. |
|
The values reported by this measure and its numeric equivalent are mentioned in the table below:
| Measure Value |

| Enabled |
1 |
| Disabled |
2 |
| Disabled by parent |

Note:
By default, this measure reports the above-mentioned Measure Values while indicating the activity status of this virtual server in BIG-IP GTM. However, in the graph of this measure, states will be represented using the corresponding numeric equivalents only - i.e., 0 to 3.
