Measures reported by BB12XAffManRcpTest

The BlackBerry Affinity Manager is responsible for maintaining an active connection between BlackBerry 10 devices and the BlackBerry Infrastructure. Affinity Manager uses either of SRP, internal services or RCP to estanlish connections with external devices.

RCP (Rate Control Protocol) is congestion control protocol and controls he flow of transactions in either directions. The active BlackBerry Affinity Manager listens for RCP (Rate Control Protocol) connections from the BlackBerry Dispatcher on this port.

This test monitors the Affinity Manager RCP statistics of the device and reports if there is heavy traffic or any loss in data.

Outputs of the test: One set of results for Blackberry UEM 12.x device.

The measures made by this test are as follows:

Measurement Description Measurement Unit Interpretation
bytesReceivedOverRCPConn Indicates the total number of bytes received over RCP (Rate Control Protocol) connections during the last measurement period. MB

Compare the value of this measure across the connections to identify if there is any loss in data.

bytesSentOverRCPConn Indicates the total number of bytes sent over RCP connections during the last measurement period. MB

Compare the value of this measure across the connections to identify which connection is contributing to the high level of traffic.

transacRcvdOverRCPConn Indicates the total number of receive operations over RCP connections during the last measurement period. Number

Compare the value of this measure across the connections to identify if there is any loss in data.

transacSentOverRCPConn Indicates the total number of send operations over RCP connections during the last measurement period. Number

Compare the value of this measure across the connections to identify if there is any loss in data.

externalRCPConn Indicates the total number of external RCP connections during the last measurement period. Number

Compare the value of this measure across the connections to identify if there is any congestion.

internalServerConn Indicates the total number of internal server connections during the last measurement period. Number

Compare the value of this measure across the connections to identify if there is any congestion.
